Race Details
The Mo Mile is back for a second year in Banff - with the addition of a 5K distance! To promote physical and mental well-being during Movember, you can choose between a quick mile or a bit of a longer distance - starting and ending at the Okâch – Îyethkabi Oûgitûb pavilion building in Sundance Park. The 5K will start at 11:00am and the mile will start at 11:15am. This quick, fun run has been kept at a low registration cost to allow the opportunity for everyone in the Bow Valley to come together as a community and celebrate all the important men in our lives this Movember. All proceeds will go to Movember Canada and Mountain Muskox.
Participant Information
Participants will be able to pick up their race packages on Friday, November 28th - please check back here and in your inbox for the confirmed race package pick-up location. There will be no day-of pick-ups unless a request has been approved by the Mo Mile director, who can be emailed directly at info@movalley.ca . Unfortunately, there will be no race fee refunds if you are unable to participate, nor will you be able to transfer your registration.
Parking at Sundance Park can be limited. We encourage everyone to walk, ride, or Roam to the event site. The Mo Mile is also a cup-less event. If you'd like a hot chocolate post-race or need to fill up water inside the pavilion building, please bring your own drinking vessel.
As we know the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable and change at any time, we ask that all race participants are dressed for the elements. There will be an indoor warming space available, but capacity is limited. We will also provide a couple outdoor fire pits at the race site for warmth. We encourage everyone to pack warm layers to be used before and after the race. As the paths along the river can sometimes be icy, please pack traction devices to ensure your individual safety.
Route Details
The start/finish line will be located just outside the Okâch – Îyethkabi Oûgitûb pavilion. Participants will run down the Bow River path to the Muskrat St Pedestrian bridge, crossing the bridge over to the opposite side of the path along the river to the Nancy Pauw Pedestrian bridge, and back to the Okâch – Îyethkabi Oûgitûb pavilion. The extension for the 5K will follow the same route and add on an extension to the Banff Canoe Club dock area and back towards Sundance Park. There will be course marshals along the route and a volunteer runner will be sweeping the course to ensure no one has been left behind!
Race Registration
Registration will open on October 20, 2025. You can click on the link below and register via Zone4. The cost of entry is only $10 for the mile and $25 for the 5K (not including online processing fee), so gather your crew, dress to impress, and bring your 'stache to the bash! All participants will receive a small swag bag, post-race refreshments, and the opportunity to win prizes.

Volunteers can sign up for a variety of tasks, including set-up/tear down, course marshal, or even placing some finisher ribbons on the community's kiddos. Click the link below to see all the volunteer opportunities.
Post-Race
After your cross that finish line, come enjoy a free burrito graciously donated by barBurrito Banff and grab a hot chocolate or beer from Banff Ave Brewing Co. There will be a post-race awards event starting at 12:00pm at the Pavilion. Join us as we've got some prizes to giveaway and we want to give cheers to all of you for participating in this year's Mo Mile!
